At the weekend our clan of 5 dogs included 3 extras, (Jarvis, Bailey and Alfie) so we decided we would visit my partners parents down at Par Sands Holiday Park and go for a hike on the dog friendly beach at Par Sands (scroll down to find Par Sands in the next link) Par Beach Guide. As well as a game of fetch/piggy in the middle before a pub lunch at the local pub: The Ship Inn- Par .
Now I would recommend everyone visit this resort on holiday at least once. It has great on site facilities such as a pool and play area and games room and with the extremely dog friendly beach opposite the resort and beach cafe currently being erected its got everything you need to have a peaceful stay with your dogs.
There is a lovely local pub which caters for dogs extremely well – even going as far as having a separate dog only (no children) garden for more dogs which keeps them away from the play area. Water bowls are found throughout the grounds they serve nice pub grub too.
The beach itself is Sandy and has easy access to it which is flat with a slight incline to the main beach. At low tide it can become filled with seaweed up to the tideline but that’s why it’s a dog beach.
There is a nice walk around to Polkerris beach and pub which has steep access to either ends of the path (along the southwest coastal path) In high season dogs must be kept on a lead at Polkerris beach. But make the most of this small beach as it may become private very soon (it is up for sale!).
All the dogs enjoying a hectic game of fetch and were really very well-behaved at the pub on the way back. Those guys can come again. Well done Jarvis, Alfie and Bailey.
Ps Some of these shots could be anywhere in the world don’t you think? 🙂
